My love for turtle necks went up significantly this year. Although it’s mostly too hot to wear them in Lagos, there are times when turtle necks just suit the occasion.
The Thing About Turtle Necks
I would say for a fact that I noticed more people styling turtle necks this year. Personally, I purchased 3 turtle necks this year- white, red and green.
Turtle necks are sleek and make you look confident. They also look significantly yummy on both genders.
I should warn you that editing makes this particular red pair look lighter so don’t blame me.
Styling turtle necks with Princess Audu
Sarah and I met up while I was in Abuja (mentioned this in my thanksgiving post) for a collaboration. She’s such a sweet soul and even offered to help me shoot other outfits for my blog content. I love when people’s energies online match in real life. we clicked instantly. It was good vibes throughout. Big shout out to her siblings who helped with the shoot.
We decided to style turtle necks in two ways because it’s been a real trend this year. So there’s one for my work folks and another for casual bees like me!
Sarah went for a properly layered look pairing her turtle neck with a jumpsuit. If you like a more covered look on low necklines, this is a stylish addition.
I chose neutrals to pair with mine. My favourite pair of work pants and a sleeveless jacket I discovered is now a bit tight for me. Really didn’t see that coming but we move.

These looks are my fave as you know how much I love street style.
Again, Sarah perfectly layered a top on her turtle neck then styled with mom jeans and heeled sleepers. This gives me retro-chic vibes & I love how functional it is as well.
I went with a pink pleated Midi skirt with white sneakers. Those two colours have been hooking my fashion eye to try for a while & they came out so well.
We missed fashion week this year but these looks would have been perfect for the Street style!
What do you think?
Thank you to Sarah for being such a good sport. Please check out her YouTube channel and Instagram page where she shares valuable content on modest fashion & lifestyle. I hope to be back in Abuja so we can have a proper hangout time and meet up with the other cool creatives in the city.
