The mini skirt suit trend is one I’ve been itching to get my hands on but every set I saw was way over my budget. Another trend I wanted to try before the season runs out is Neon. Luckily, I got to try both trends in this post.
MINI SKIRT SUIT
I searched for affordable ones for a while. The thrift stores that had them were out of Lagos too and the shipping fee alone chased me away. During market runs for Thrift Store NG, I found this and literally squealed. Although, I was a bit skeptical about the color as I wanted one in bold colors & also the size, forgetting that I have added more weight so thankfully, it fit. Just had to hold the waist of the skirt a bit because snatching has to be achieved LOL.
For Look 1, I styled the mini skirt suit the corporate way. I decided to use my velvet belt to accentuate the waist, it is my current fave belt actually and goes with basically everything I own. Paired with my nude heels (that are as pretty as they are uncomfortable but anything for fashion right?) and nude bag, I have a neutral shade power look.
Look 2 is for my street style queens, you all know I like a dash in every post. I have been trying to get neon pieces but most things I saw were downright tacky. A colleague wore this pvc neon sneakers and I fell in love, got it that same day from the vendor and it was the only pair of sneakers that clicked in my head with the mini skirt suit. Decided to style it with a simple white t-shirt, fishnet panty hose and white glasses. It is an upgraded casual look that will always serve.
I like that this mini skirt suit is more of the vintage style and I could bring a modern twist to it. I hope you love it as much as I loved creating the looks.
Which of the two looks is your fave?
