Holiday casual looks are relative like I always say but even while looking casual, you need to nail it.
The holidays are still in full swing, except you are working like me, I’m sure you are having fun. Although with the fuel situation still ongoing, it’s been a bit of a downer. My people are still turning up though! Almost all the concerts were sold out and Lagos is bubbling as usual, albeit a little low-key.
So, Christmas colors again, because it is over doesn’t mean we should not look the part eh? Prior to this outfit, I stayed away from the cliche white and red holiday outfits. I would rather go full red but I already did a little white and red with my shoes in this post. I got this oversize t-shirt as a gift from babe, thank God he gets my style kinda, decided to match the colors with the inscription on the skirt so I stole my mum’s pleated red skirt.
Pleats trended a lot this year. I have always been into pleats right from University days ( I attended an Anglican school so pleated midi skirts were totally cool then) so it was quite easy for me to reactivate my love for them. I wear a few to church too but this red one my mum never wore, was perfect for the shirt.
Last month, I got this pair of oh-so-gorgeous Arata slip-on wedge sneakers from the Tsubo team and it was basically love on first sight. If you follow me on Instagram, my insta stories were proof of that. Created in 1997, Tsubo is a Japanese brand with products blends comfort and performance features of athletic profiles with the style and character of casual footwear. I really like the color as it is one I don’t have (or would have never bought myself). It is a light weight foam mid sole that provides ample cushioning, makes me feel like I’m walking on air. I’ve been itching to try the sneaker on midi skirt again like I did here and this did it. The color of the sneakers broke the red & white monotone, it was perfect for an holiday look.
A black Baker hat on my head, my clutch purse as a waste purse and a ripped denim choker for that street style appeal. I really love how it came out.
No need to tell you about my new year resolutions (I don’t have any) since I already shared the things I’m dropping in 2017. I am excited about the new year, always feels like a clean slate and another chance to get it right. All I want us to do is enter 2018 with God and an optimistic mind and watch God come through for us.
How are your holidays going? Do you like the sneakers and skirt trend? Would you rock this look? Please drop your comments.
See You Next Year!
