The beret trend got bigger last year and “we” are not ready to let it go just yet (maybe ever?). Something else that has not stopped, is the color block trend, although, I don’t think pay attention to it like that anymore. Here is what I think about both trends.
Okay, I have home training sha so Happy New Year! I was going to form hard guy and act like I didn’t just skip the first 8 days in the year without stopping by but I got mad love for you guys. Back to the post before I talk your ears (abi eyes) off.
It’s funny how I started staying true to my “more colors” fashion goal at the end of 2017 and it’s entering the new year with me. I thought about this outfit for so long before finally winging it as I was not sure of the outcome. My personal style is also about taking decent risks, if the pictures don’t come out well, i’ll delete them LOL.
Got this front-layered top from my friend and pants from another friend (S/O to friends you can steal clothes from). I have also been itching to share a full post with the beret here. I have previously featured one in my fashion week post and another look on Kamdora. Wearing berets in secondary school made it feel so natural for me although I had a nasty experience when I went to visit my friend in Yabatech some years back. Let me sharply gist you.
So I was on white crop top, those ones that slide off one shoulder and it had some red designs on it. As per fashionista, your girl decided to top it off with red beret (are you screaming already?). Next thing some guys stopped us and called the guys we were walking with, those ones ran back and pulled off beret off my head, asked if I wanted to die and we had to speed-walk away. That was the end of my beret love and even the black used to scare me because we don’t know whose color it is flying.
Honestly, I don’t know what color this pants is called but I fell in love with it and planned like 4 different outfits with it. I like that it can be dressed up or down so you are going to be seeing more of it. This color block way though, is one of my faves and I would keep at it till I’m tired, oh and the beret trend of course. Paired with white and black accessories to keep it simple.
I asked a series of content-related questions on my Instagram and most people want Style Hacks over collaborations. So I guess I have to show my creative hat (it’s been on but lowkey). Here’s one though; it’s hard to tuck in tops that are only layered in front if you want to still show that it is layered. Tuck the back in and fold the sides so the front layer can fall over it. Easy!
I hope you fulfill your dreams this year. Cheers to 2018!
