Happy Independence Day Nigeria! One thing that never ceases to amaze me is how my fellow citizens always manage to find humor in everything that hits us in this country because let’s face it, one can easily lose his mind in the midst of the chaos in this country.

Independence Day outfit from Nigerian fashion blogger Wumi Tuase

I’m sorry for going off without prior notice but like I said in my last Diary post, it can be quite difficult trying to merge certain aspects of my life with the blog especially as I don’t have a camera so I have to rely so much on my photographers and my laptop acting up like its on it’s period but I’m back now and hope to make up for my absence.

Let’s move to this outfit. I was gifted this dress from an Instagram store “Fabric Shop NG” sometime ago and honestly I had so much plans for this dress on the blog but things got in the way. I was however able to put it to good use during a modeling shoot recently. The long bell sleeves caught my heart immediately I saw it and you know how much I like exaggerated sleeves plus I really love the fabric. It’s soft but not shabby looking and although I’d have liked the neckline to be a bit more exciting but “Wumi sometimes wear normal dresses and be happy” LOL.

I paired it with tan pumps and this beautiful leather bag from Haute Signatures. The bag can also be carried as a shoulder bag with the extra adjustable straps, it’s a multipurpose bag and I like how roomy it is even though it doesn’t look so from the outside. I didn’t wear any jewelry because honestly, I forgot especially as my hair was covering my ears but I had to admit that my neck is too bare in the pictures so let’s just imagine a pretty gold chain on it eh?

I didn’t plan to post this for Independence Day, it was to be a work style inspiration but I was stressing over how I didn’t get to shoot my Independent Day outfit and remembered I had this set of pictures with a green dress! So let’s do it for the culture and hail our dear country Nigeria.
