Nigerian Fashion Blogger Wumi Tuase Fashion Week Outfit For Newbies

Fashion Week is upon us! Guess who is attending her first Fashion Week ever? Your Girl! (That’s me in case you still don’t get it). I am excited about attending the Lagos Fashion& Design Week as a blogger even as a human being LOL and as a first timer, getting creative outfits has been my major concern. If you do not have brands queuing up to sponsor your outfits for the upcoming Fashion Week or you do not have a lot of money to spend on getting new ones, I have come up with two Fashion Week Outfit Inspiration for newbies that will give you a little guide as to what you can wear especially if you don’t want to go overboard with the creativity.

This is the first of the two outfits and the good old denim will be making an appearance in the second one too. Quite frankly, I never understand the need to dress outrageously for Fashion Week. I like the obvious creativity of course but not an outfit that will cause pain to my eyes, all pages would be posting the pictures of that outfit just to get reactions from their readers, like I said, e dey pain my eyes.

This is why I picked outfits that you can easily pull out from your wardrobe, style to your comfort and still look good.In my opinion, there is nothing a blazer cannot dress up, make it a cape blazer and you’ve got yourself a statement piece. I picked a button-down denim crop form this two-piece set and paired it with a mini denim skirt. I have always wanted to re-style the two piece with other textures of denim and I am pretty glad I got to do it with this outfit.

This has been the season of berets and granny caps as my favorite stylish young models; Kendall and Gigi, have popped the trend a lot recently. I picked this wine granny cap to give a retro feel to the urban-looking outfit, white sneakers because I am never letting go of the Athleisure trend. The circle bag because it is still very much trendy and further adds to the retro vibe. I’m not one for accessories but this look would have looked a bit basic despite the cape blazer so I decided to add a statement choker to the mix.

Basically what I have learnt from literally sleeping on the pictures from Paris & New York fashion week outfits is that street style always works and the edgier your outfits are, the more statement you can make. That does not mean you have to make people cringe at the sight of your outfit. Keeping it simple but creative enough always does the trick and makes your whole outfit look effortlessly cool, and who doesn’t want that look? Definitely not me.

    1. Hahaha! Well “slim you” would totally slay the outfit but I’m sure even the “not so slim you” can find a nice substitute for the crop top. Thanks for reading darling.

    1. Hi! I would be dropping daily posts for the days I attend on Kamdora.com and a curated one here after. Thank you for reading! ❤️

  1. I’ve never really understood the concept of outrageous clothing because “Fashion Week”. I suppose it’s all part of the culture. Street style is definitely a safer option. This looks is giving me Parisienne vibes though it’s a bit outta my style as I’m more of a Jeans and T-shirt girl. I’m totally all for the blazer though and I’m looking forward to the second outfit.
In unrelated news, please make sure you feed us with every detail as we haven’t gotten the liver to attend LFDW!

  2. So that blazer is definitely a hit, and yessssss to that bralet.
You didn’t state where you got your sneakers from.
Definitely in love with this look.
